Collecting anime digitally, does anyone else do it?

I have a lot in my own digital collection on a removable hard drive.

Who else has an extensive collection?

I do this because tbh I don’t expect streaming to stay like it currently is. Especially free streaming sites. When I get old I’m gonna need my shows still to defeat boredom & lonliness.

What the author said about the Misaki archetype

The author of the book, Tatsuhiko Takimoto, admitted that he wrote Misaki as a pure escapist fantasy.

He was a real-life hikikomori at the time, and he desperately wished a girl like Misaki would magically appear to rescue him from his isolation.

He later warned readers that waiting around for a "Misaki" to save you is a trap, because it doesn't happen.

Specifically, Tatsuhiko Takimoto warned in the afterwords of the original 2001 novel and 2005 paperback edition that waiting for a "Misaki" figure to save one from isolation is a dangerous fantasy.

He admitted that the character was born from his own desperate need for escape while living as a real-life hikikomori, emphasizing that no one is coming to fix a person's life.

Satou, Yamazaki, & Hitomi were country hillbillies; basically?

From my studies, all three of these characters came from Hokkaido, which would be the hillbilly “out in the rural boonies” type county folk in Japan.

Yes, Satou & Yamazaki are Japanese “rednecks” essentially.

& from what I read; they struggle more living nearby more industrialized areas like Tokyo, because of this childhood hillbilly setback. It makes life in Tokyo harder.

Hell… I even read that WAS (part of) WHY Satou was so scared of everyone & being judged & etc.

Did anyone ever notice this?

When Satou keeps trying to beat the game lent to him by Yamazaki, he kept getting this ending.

Notice where the two men’s hands are at.
