Research on anti-inflammatory properties
I've heard a lot about joint pain after starting bupropion so I was kind of surprised when I noticed in the last couple weeks that the tendonitis pain I've had in my knees consistently for over 10 years has reduced significantly. I also have sciatica on and off, but it is not consistent enough to say if the medication has helped.
I've been on bupropion XL for 2.5 months and went up to 300mg a few weeks ago. I noticed the pain relief soon after with zero change in my lifestyle/activity. Full transparency: I take it only for ADHD, not for depression or anxiety which can also impact pain.
I've been looking up primary research articles about it having anti-inflammatory properties when it comes to Crohn's, psoriasis, and nerve pain. They talk about the impact of bupropion on specific cytokines and immune responses. I tried to cross reference the same cytokines cited in this article and another article studying tendon disease popped up. Very interesting based off what I have been able to read and understand. However, nothing has popped up about the medication and tendonitis specifically. At least not yet, I'm still researching.
I have connected with someone on this sub who has experienced improved pain from rheumatoid arthritis, an autoimmune disease. There is nothing indicating that I have anything autoimmune, I just sit with my legs crossed pretzel style while I work and game. I only have myself to blame.
Has anyone else experienced improved pain while on bupropion?
