Wages after school.

Question for individuals who have gone to school.
So to give some backstory I have worked at the same company a small excavation outfit in a bigger city in Alberta Canada for about 13 years.
Starting as a labourer moving to an equipment operator for a few years then started in the underground division, got to foreman did that for a few years. And I wanted a change, I’d always helped the mechanic over the winter/and as NEEDED, a lot being pretty mechanically inclined and having a history with turning wrench’s on my own stuff and friends farmer buddy’s etc, no real formal training other than highschool shop.
After being moved into a full time HET position (running a service truck) and working in the shop when allowable/needed. Registered as an apprentice, I was a little slow to go to school however I now have 3 years worth of registered hours and recently completed 1st period school.(passed)
I have been back at work 3 months now and there has been no mention of pay increase I have asked my supervisor, and it’s a “I need to talk to the owner but I don’t think anything really changes”
And the owner has been away for this time, they still talk and he is doing things remotely.
And comparing to indeed, glassdoor, chat GPT. There are a lot of places saying they pay significantly more than im making so like theres room.
I guess my question is what should be expected from an employer after 1st year?
