I found these yesterday and I've never really had plants before but I felt bad for them. Are they salvageable? What's wrong with them?
I put them in the chunkiest soil mix that I could manage but it definitely needs a better draining soil, which will happen soon. They also need smaller pots but these are all I have at the moment.The roots and everything were dried out so I watered the soil well after putting them into the pots and have left them in what I think is bright indirect light as much as possible. I'm a very beginner with plants but I'm doing my best.
The leaves are firm in some areas but soft in other, alot have fallen off and many were dead and soft, some crunchy. I'm really worried about the brown stem on the small one. It's green at the base but the brown part is thin and hollow feeling almost, I think it's rot but the roots and everything didn't smell bad. Is it a goner even if the base of the stem is healthy?
