I built a free YouTube Trend Finder that surfaces videos outperforming their channel baseline.
Free forever, no account needed.
The core idea: instead of just showing you videos with high view counts (which just surfaces big channels), it finds videos that are significantly outperforming the channel's own average. A video with 500K views on a channel that usually gets 50K is a much more interesting signal than a video with 2M views on a channel that gets 5M.
The multiplier is Video Views / Channel Avg Views (last 10 videos), so a 5× score means that video got 5 times the channel's usual traffic. From there, a velocity component (views per day) is log-damped so mega-viral one-offs don't completely dominate the feed.
Badges to help at a glance:
- 🔥 Viral = 3× channel baseline
- 🚀 Super-Viral = 10×
- 💎 Underrated = 3×+ on a channel under 100K subs (this one's my favourite for finding hidden gems)
Would love any feedback, especially on the scoring model. Happy to answer questions.
