Low TSH, PCOS, Treatments???,Successful?? Where and who!!?
I’ve had PCOS since 2020, when I started developing symptoms seemingly out of nowhere. My diet and overall health had always been very good! Especially at the time of diagnosis. I was 129 pounds, rarely ate sugar and prioritizes whole foods. At the time of my diagnosis, my TSH was slightly low, but it didn’t seem to be a concern. I was given birth control, but I stopped after about 3 months because I was getting UTIs every other week! It sucked, UTIs did not stop until I stopped the BC. After that initial experience, I didn’t really pursue further Western medical treatment.
Fast forward to now: I am 194 pounds and still healthy, I exercise 2-3 a week, my TSH is very low, but my T3 and T4 are normal, and my PCOS symptoms have changed. I did try natural treatments, supplements, and adjusted my lifestlye to that of someone who might be called "Crunchy". I did not see much sucess with this, I would for a few months then things would go back to the way they were before. I recently had an appointment with a nurse practitioner in endocrinology, and she was great—she admitted she hadn’t really seen a case of PCOS with evidence of hyperthyroidism before, but is willing to dig into it further.
She’s retesting everything: Graves’ disease, full thyroid panel, lipid panel, all hormone levels, and more. I’m currently waiting on results.
I’m hoping to gain some insight from others who may have had a similar experience—what treatments you tried, and how they helped you.
