People wanting Katie to be “niche” again
Why do people want Katie to leave the QSMP so damn badly? I’ve seen a lot of discourse online about the Haiper situation drifting toward people saying they hope Katie stops playing on the QSMP because of the weird CCs on the server. However, it’s clear they’re not saying this because they’re taking Katie into consideration (which, either way, she’s a grown woman and she’ll decide if she wants to leave or not), but because they simply want Katie to stop streaming QSMP altogether, or they want the server to be closed. (Mainly people with Katie PFPs are saying this.)
They’re also taking attention away from a much more serious matter to fuel the hatred they’ve had for QSMP ever since she started streaming it. A lot of accounts are dedicated to hating Katie’s content on the QSMP while praising her older content, even though Katie has started streaming other games alongside QSMP. They bring up QSMP even when the game she’s playing isn’t QSMP, saying that chat is much calmer without it and that they’re glad she isn’t playing QSMP again. The reason why Katie’s pre chat is on emote only is because people were arguing about her playing QSMP again. They nitpick the people she interacts with as reasons why she should stop playing. I understand getting mad at people who don’t know Katie’s history before QSMP, but she’s gained a lot of new fans from QSMP who don’t know that history, so I don’t see the point of screenshotting someone’s comment and taunting them for not knowing Stewie was Katie and Riley’s OG kid.
Am I the only one who thinks we should just let Katie play what she wants to play without hating on any of the content? Katie also seems to be passionate about the project itself since she wrote out her own lore and has said she thinks hard about what aligns with her character and what doesn’t. Then she gave us one of the most interesting characters on that server.
The fandom is annoying, yes, but that doesn’t mean Katie should stop playing something she finds fun. I just think that if you’re going to hate on something she regularly plays now, then don’t bother calling yourself a Katie supporter at all.
