I am in a biochemistry lab and have been isolating monocytes from PBMCs to differentiate into dendtritic cells. So far, we have been purchasing vials of 20 million for approximately $150. However, we are getting to the point where we require much higher yields and are looking to purchase whole blood or leukopaks instead. (likely whole blood, as leukopaks are pricier. I did find a 10th at stemcell technologies for $952, although I am not sure if this is a good price as I have not gotten quotes back yet?)
Does anyone have any specific commercial vendors/blood banks they use? How were the prices? We are (likely) specifically looking for RUO Whole Blood that is deemed "expired or unfit" for hospital use as it will be cheaper.
Has anyone used the Red Cross and if so, what were their quotes like? I have also reached out to Gulf Coast but have not heard back yet, but I do know someone who used them a couple years back.
