I went to fight a parking ticket today (& thankfully won), but then the judge showed me that I had an additional ticket for “standing in prohibit” on south water street in 2013… in a BMW. A couple of issues: I’ve never owned a BMW, and I was living in NYC in 2013 with no car. The judge was already pissy and had essentially shushed me when I went to ask about the BMW ticket, so I didn’t press the issue and ate the $90 but… how would this happen? it was over a decade ago so hopefully no one is still driving around Providence with a phony plate that shows up as mine.
