Asked to fix chair. It will be discarded if I cannot fix it, so there is no pressure. My thought is to get glue into the seam and drive two large screws in from the bottom.

Will this work or is it bound to crack again? There is a bit of a lever action on this area, so I'm not sure if the screws will hold.
