🌊 0725H · Oct 22. Ballast passage, Caroline Islands waters. Saw a shower that resembled a tree, and, for a moment, I felt more homely. Anyone else ever look at something and feel that quiet pull toward home?

🌊 1619H; SE of Palau Island; Nov 2022. Ballast passage from Japan to Australia. Riding light at 14 knots. A passing shower which had us deviate from her course line.

Quick way to tell a planet from a star
The Greeks noticed the same thing and called them planetes — wanderers — the lights that drift into a constellation and overstay their welcome. One's up there right now.
N.B Most interesting part of being a 7-years commercial seafarer are things which I wouldn't have known outside of the industry.
