Quick way to tell a planet from a star

The Greeks noticed the same thing and called them planetes — wanderers — the lights that drift into a constellation and overstay their welcome. One's up there right now.

N.B Most interesting part of being a 7-years commercial seafarer are things which I wouldn't have known outside of the industry.
