My wife has national Young India mediclaim policy. She has been on it for more than 3 years continuous. We delivered twins this week and one of them needs an immediate surgery.

I read through the policy details. It’s a 3L policy with maternity cover of 30000. But newborn is covered from day 1-90.

I don’t understand if newborn will be covered under maternity expenses head of 30000 or sun insured 3L

I was unsure of this so we intimated pregnancy admission but NICU admission was informed 3 days after admission when we got to know of surgery. Will this affect coverage? It’s a congenital but internal condition.

Advise appreciated. As coverage of present will allow us some financial certainty
