Interactive mouthpiece specs graph
FYI in case you haven't seen it yet, we’ve been testing ways for players to visualize the Ⓥ mouthpiece specs in the trumpet.cloud comparator database through an interactive Specs graph view.
How it works
- Go to the trumpet.cloud mpc comparator and load your choice of mouthpiece(s) that have the Ⓥ symbol in the name.
- Click/tap the new graph button — above the mouthpiece name, in between the info and 3D viewer buttons — to launch the Specs graph view.
- Select neighboring designs and adjust the X/Y filters to explore the various relationships across the database.
- IMPORTANT: Not all filters and X/Y relationships will be instructive or useful, it's just easier to give you all the options. YMMV.
- Click/tap "Compare Drawings" to see how your new choices look in 2D & 3D — that's still the ultimate way to compare designs online.
- Download an SVG, Excel sheet, or TSV of the displayed graph/data for your own research and reference purposes.
There are obvious limitations, and there's no guarantee that this graph or any specs chart for that matter will be useful on its own in your personal mouthpiece safari. But after many player requests for "ways to visualize the specs" at scale, we finally decided to put together a basic graph tool that relies only upon non-subjective real-world data taken from consistent reference points.
Thank you to the folks who used this tool in its earlier phases and sent in feedback for improvement. Much appreciation goes out to the many players that have contributed their Ⓥ scans to our public database thus far, and to Vennture Mouthpieces for making VennCAD and their treasure trove of data freely available to the community. Hope you all can find this new Specs graph tool useful in some way!
