Bunnies under water 🌊
The sea bunny, known scientifically as "Jorunna parva", is a small species of sea slug that looks surprisingly like a tiny fluffy rabbit.
Despite its appearance, it’s not a mammal at all but a nudibranch. It lives mainly in the Indo-Pacific region, especially around Japan and the Philippines, usually in shallow coastal waters where it moves slowly across the seabed. It was first described in 1930 by the Japanese zoologist Kikutaro Baba.
Fun facts:
• Its “ears” are actually sensory organs used to detect chemicals in the water
• The fuzzy look comes from tiny structures called caryophyllidia, not real fur
• It can absorb toxins from its food and use them as a defense mechanism
