Location: West Michigan, USA

I was driving down some country road yesterday. A guy was brake checking me and slowing down to 10 mph so I passed him. At the stop sign he ended up firing at my vehicle and shot out my rear window. He ended up running but I saw the direction he went. Cops were called and there is an investigation going on. They checked neighbors ring cameras and gas station footage near by. Got video of the vehicle and possibly license plate. Unsure if they found him yet as they never contacted me again. What I’m wondering is if they DO find him, what do I do? I never have had anything like this happen to me so I’m unsure of next steps. Can I sue? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!
