Hip Cam Impingement/Labral Debridement (How long did you wait to bear weight?)

Hello all, I kind of went against my surgeons request and started bearing weight earlier than he wished - 12 days (not doing steps, just generic heel to toe walking on one floor of my house) when he initially said to wait 3 weeks... I had my follow up yesterday and he told me to extend my non-weight bearing to 4 weeks now. Walking doesn't feel wrong to me and most importantly it doesn't cause me pain. Has anyone with this similar procedure went through the same time restriction? How long did you wait? Am I going to cause myself harm even though it doesn't hurt to walk?

P.S. I also have yet to start physical therapy.

37yr Male: I’m scheduled for surgery this Thursday for FAI and Labral Tear. Little worried but the ortho surgeon says it’ll buy me more time before I have to get a replacement. Just wondering if there’s anyone that was similar to me… sometimes I feel it walking sometimes I don’t. Sometimes I feel it making pivot movements, sometimes I dont. If I run a mile I walk like an old man afterwards. Mostly the pain is always noticeable when I do any outward hip movements. I’m still going through with the surgery because like I said, I can’t run a mile without feeling like an old man and being in the military Im kind of expected to complete yearly PT tests. Consensus is that I’m hoping that someone was in this situation as well and felt better mentally afterwards.
