My Thunderbird (current version May 15th) starts extremely slow since actually about a year or so. It takes like a minute just to open, after that everything works fine. By accident I found the folder "pending" in crash reports. I have 31.793 files in there. (dmp, extra)
Could that be the cause for the delay? Can I just empty the folder and how can I prevent that greedy file collecting?

Edit: Nope, didn't change anything.
I deleted the folder pending, (2+GB!) same slow start, 50+ new files in the pending folder.
