moving to spain
Hi everyone!
I’m thinking about moving to Spain around August 2027, and I’d really love to hear experiences/opinions from people who already live there.
I'm Brazilian, currently living in Ireland and I have an EU passport, so (I believe) the documentation process would be easier. I know salaries there tend to be lower than in Ireland, but honestly the Irish weather has been affecting me A LOT, so I’m looking for a bit of a lifestyle change and more sunshine ☀️
I still don’t speak Spanish, which makes me a little nervous, but the plan is to study during this next year. I also have a degree in Marketing, although here in Ireland I currently work as a barista, and I’m open to different kinds of jobs.
The idea would be to move with savings of at least €10k so I can settle down more comfortably at the beginning.
I’d love to know:
– which cities/regions you’d recommend for a woman in her 20s moving alone
– what the job market is like there
– if rent is also insanely difficult these days, because Ireland is honestly crazy 💀
– how your adaptation process was
I’ve also read a little about NIE, empadronamiento, health insurance and all the bureaucracy, and I wanted to know if it usually takes a long time to sort everything out, especially when arriving without a job yet.
I really like beaches, sunshine, walking around, and a more relaxed lifestyle in general. So honestly any experience or advice would already help me a lot 🫶 Thank you!!
