I am of HSC 25 batch and I was an Engg aspirant and sat for admission tests with very poor preparation (I wasted the entire admission phase), but still got a rank good enough for RUET Mechatronics and got admitted. I also sat for IUT with...still a very below-average preparation (I wasted the whole 2 months before the admission test again :/ ) and got a decent rank but really far from partial scholarship.
But without partial scholarship, IUT is not an option for me.
My plan is to attempt IUT partial next year while staying admitted at RUET.
I don't have any particular passion. Although, I find certain aspects of Electronics, Automotive, CAD etc. interesting. I just want to secure a good future.
The main reason I am considering IUT 2nd time is to study in mother subjects (EEE/ME). Also the fact that people say that IUT job acceptance rate is very high and that it is convenient going abroad being at IUT. Also I am thinking, since IUT UG program lasts about 3 years and 10 months and public unis often have some sorts of session jam, the year drop won't be as damaging if I crack partial next year.
But again in recent years, the session jam in BCKRUET was mostly due to COVID and July movement I presume? And now there won't be as much session jam as before?
And is it true that demand of traditional Mechanical Engineering is declining recently and that Mechatronics is more of a demanding field now?
All things considered, if I crack partial next year (which is a big if), should I go for IUT? Or should I just stay at RUET and try to learn some skills? Seniors, please kindly give me some guidance here.
