Why is it so hard to buy a car?

Why are dealers making it so hard to test drive and buy a car?

MG, Geely, BYD, often don't respond to telephone calls, don't listen, don't respond to web enquiries for days or weeks even.

Just spoke to a dealer who asked what time we would like to book a test drive for next week, when I said "noon" he came back with "I'll book you in for 1pm then".

No. I asked for noon, at least ask me if 1pm suits.

I have a situation, I will try to be as much information as I feel comfortable giving with giving away too much.

I work in the community, I have an elderly client who outright told me he intended to commit an offence (driving unlicensed, in an unregistered, uninsured vehicle).

The client also has a condition which makes it unlikely he will ever gain medical clearance to drive.

I have reported to NOK who basically responded saying not their problem.

I have also reported this in writing to my management.

My dilemma is, should I report my concerns to Police? In doing so, am I breaching confidentiality? I would obviously need to divulge the name and address, along with my concerns. I don't think I would/should need to divulge any health related information.

What would you do in my shoes?

The potential for an innocent person to be injured or killed by a vehicle without insurance is worrying me.
