Adam had effectively been bullied for days and days before this and hadnt reacted or stood up for himself much and just took it, so was probably already frustrated with himself and others, all on top of his arthritis struggles which he had been keeping to himself and it all just boiled over when Jimmy essentially spat in his face as collateral damage all because he wanted to quit at a time to secure his contract when Adam was in it for other reasons, primarily for his kids, which also added to the meltdown.
