How do I get more natural looking colors ?

How do I get more natural looking colors ?

I’m going not mad about how this one turned out, kinda whimsical and very much a 90’s styrofoam cup theme to the palette 😂
I’m just wondering how do I get more natural looking colors? The tutorial I was working off of was using soft pastels instead of oils. Is soft pastels just generally better at producing natural landscape colors? Is there a certain set of oil pastels that some feel are better for landscape? Any help is much appreciated!

Hey Y’all, I didn’t know if anyone had any recommendations for a way to store a sketch book, oil pastels and some of the various blending tools I use (tortillons, sandpaper, tape, etc) for on the go? I’m looking for something that can house all of that and I can take it into work to work on things in my free time. Didn’t know if anyone had a great “plein air” or on the go kits they’ve made with success. Thanks!

Hey Y’all, new to the thread and new to oil pastels. This is the second piece that I’ve done. Sketched it out in about 15 minutes in my car during lunch break. I know it’s not exactly finished but any constructive feedback would be much appreciated! Looking forward to this new journey with this. Oil pastel on sketchbook pad. Pallet: Mungyo Gallery White (244), Black (248), and Grey (246).
