I’ve had my boy Rubeus for a couple of years now, he’s 2y 5m old, and at least 3 feet long (if that matters). Never had any issues with him, eats and drinks fine, all normal shedding until now.
About 2 weeks ago I fed him, as usual. But I pretty much haven’t seen him since. I checked on him 2 days after feeding and he was in blue, eyes milky, so just left him alone to shed in peace. A few days later I checked him again and his eyes had cleared, but he still looked dull, and I couldn’t find his shed skin anywhere, so assumed it was imminent.
Well it’s now over a week later and still no shed. I check on him every couple of days, but he doesn’t seem to want to leave his hide, I haven’t seen him drinking- I really hope he’s coming out at night to drink! I offered him food yesterday and he struck, dragged the mouse into his hide and ate in there, and still hasn’t come out.
I don’t know whether to be worried, I’m glad he ate, but he’s normally so active, this is just very out of character. Any advice/reassurance would be welcomed.
Temps in his Viv are 30 at the warm end and 25 at the cool (Celsius) and humidity tends to be around 45% he’s in a 4x2x2 (again, not sure if any of this matters)
