Queer-Friendly Partner Dance Classes?
Basically looking for some kind of partner dance class option in New Orleans that is either explicitly geared towards the LGBTQ community, or partner dance spaces where same-sex partners would be welcome. My understanding is a lot of spaces are welcoming, or at least don’t bat an eye at same-sex partnerings, but I’m curious about any personal experiences or endorsements. Initial searches on various platforms came up without the queer element or appear a little old or aren’t specifically partner-dance focused (line dancing, contemporary, hip hop, etc).
My partner and I probably have four left feet between us but think it would be fun to try in a welcoming, fun space that’s open to beginners. Literally any kind of dance - swing, salsa, tango, bachata, ballroom. We don’t really care.
Edited to add: also open to private lessons as a last resort, if y’all know anybody!
