Link.1 Center Strikes: Anyone else forced to switch to Claw or a weak right hand?

I watched the video of Sam and Coach Choi Jong-Hwan and testing right hand left hand grip on the club, so I spent some time testing out various left and right-hand grip variations to see which suited me best.

I noticed immediately how great the centre hits are when I switch from my standard reverse overlap grip to a claw. Every other grip I tried just didn't hit the centre like the claw did and the feel and sound was a thud instead of the soft bouncy feel I get when hitting dead centre.

While I didn’t mind the claw for within 10ft, I really struggled with distance control and lag putting using it.

So I continued testing and found that using my standard overlap grip but with an extremely weak right hand gave me the same centre strikes but let me keep my natural speed control. Im guessing both grips are taking my right hand out of the swing and stopping it from closing too much?

Has anyone else gone through the same experience? Did you notice an immediate jump in centre strikes when switching to a claw or weakening your trail hand and did you end up keeping the grip change, or did you figure out a way to make your original grip work?

Just curious as to whether my new found grip should stay or whether i should ‘figure’ out how to get my old grip to work.
