Harpy character - help a new player out!
Hiya! I am new to playing DnD - I wanted to play as a kid but the boys said no. but now I’m in my 40s and this awesome group has invited me to play! It’s a new campaign and everyone is starting at level 1. I want to play a harpy and I can’t decide - is she a rambunctious, older, queer, cussing pirate? Or a grouchy herbalist who lives by the sea? (a druid type, I suppose?) I can’t decide because it all seems so fun. I can do a fantastic pirate voice but I also know a lot about herbalism. What to do?!
Either way, I would love help figuring out building the character stats. My new DM (yay! I have a DM!) sent some info and will totally help, but I thought I’d reach out to some community here for some help too. I know I’m not starting with a traditional character type.
Also, in DnD are harpies always kinda combined with sirens? I’ve looked around and they all seem to have siren song stuff going on.
