Never asked for feedback before - How is my writing? (Short story, Fiction / Mild Sci-Fi)

Looking for honest feedback on my first short story:

Looking for honest critique on my first Short Story

Hi all,

Just finished my edits on my first short story (Fiction / mild Science Fiction) and am looking for genuine review. I don't expect many to read it all the way through, but I've posted it in its entirety (10 Chapters, 10.5k words).

Specifically, I'm looking for:

  1. Where did you stop reading?
  2. What was confusing?
  3. What did you like?
  4. Comments on tone / writing style?

I do have my own challenges / critiques of this story (and had some major issues with it), so for anyone interested, I'd be happy to discuss in the comments. I'll leave them out for now though to let others form their own opinions.
