I am excited to be taking a lead climbing class next month after a year of climbing! I have 2 questions for more experienced folks:

1. What do you wish someone with more experience had told you before you started lead?

2. Do you have a rope recommendations for someone who is starting to learn lead and will likely be only climbing in the gym for the first 1-2 years? REI sale is happening now and I am proactively planning.
