Am I simply not the target audience for Arch?
Hi, wanted to know, if I can go for stretches of months without touching my PC, should I move to a non-arch system?
Context:
Downloaded CachyOS for the day to day PC. It was on a whim, never used Arch before, figured, why not.
I wasn't able to use it for 6 months as my focus becomes predominately web browser based focused. As such, I used my work laptop instead.
Tonight, I had some free time decided to play some games. Wanted to download Lutris, and then, mirror said link 404.
So I updated mirror, but certain files got corrupted.
So I updated keyring, mirror and system, and tried again, and lib-gcc was corrupted.
Took 40 minutes to understood what was the issue, cleared cache, and wrote the directories for the corrupted files and used the overwrite command after Syu.
Issue resolved. Which is great, but I had to use most of my free time for this. Looking into online discussions, the issue seems to be that I don't update often.
Since that's the case, would Bazzite be the better choice for me, if I can't update often? I just wanted a PC that lets me use it when I want it.
