I am 1/4th of the way through the 4th book and it is so uninteresting. I need to know if there is like an exciting event or something happen with the city. As of right now it just is so uninteresting. I just finished listening to the king whine and make demands and all I could think the whole time was why does this matter.

Right now I just want to know is does the series pick up. As is stands the serect city that no one betrays and that grows into a powerhouse is unbelievable and honestly kinda played out.

I am struggling because I like the charaters, the magic system but the lack of any stakes or true conviction to save as many people as possible is making me not care in the Slightest.
