Folks - Matthew Mahl is going to take on the feds, THATS WHY the state is dropping the case. Very misleading articles. So hes even more cooked than before.
This was in multiple states, so it makes sense. Feds don't miss. Hell go to prison for sure
Matthew Mahl's (The Lieutenant pred) charges are being dropped by the state because hes going to be charged FEDERALLY. He's one of the worst of the worst and his life is well done cooked. Feds don't mess up, and he'll certainly be catching a prison sentence
And he'll be fucked with for sure if he's not put in PC. This predator got me the most pissed off. he'll go down as one of the most infamous ones
In hindsight I made a dumbass mistake against an OWC after playing too long of a poker session
I have QJ and flop comes 69Q, she checks, I bet, she calls. Turn is a J so I have top 2 pair. She goes all in, and I make a stupid mistake assuming she's overvaluing a random lower two pair, and not considering she turned a straight, and it was actually me that overvalued my turned top 2 pair, plus since she only had a little over $200 I felt like phuckit, I called. Of course she turned over K10 Lol. Sleep really affected my judgement on that one.
For my 1/3 players - whats the most money you lost in a single hand? Not a session, but just a hand.
For me - most recently this weekend. I dont remember the exact amount but it was around $650. Didnt get felted but $400 was my buy in, lost that. Bought back in for $500. Grinded it back and worked it up to $1200-$1250, and lost about half of it in one hand. Full house over full house
Took the worst beat of my life yesterday
Playing $1/$3 and I have around $1200 in my stack. I have TT and open to $20 and get 2 callers. Flop comes 7, 8, 10 rainbow and I got top set 😁. I make a C-bet of $40 and one folds, the other one calls. Turn is a King, nothing to worry about there. I continue the aggression with $80, he calls. River is another King, I now have 10s full over Kings. At this point I decide to bet $150, and I expect to either get called or fold, but then he does something I was completely unexpected and raises to $500. I didnt snap call because it just totally caught me by surprise. I doubt he'd be doing that with just a straight, so then I thought maybe he also flopped a set of 8s or a set of 7s and he was just slowing playing and thinking hes trapping me with them, so I call and he turns over a hand I never expected- K8. He went runner runner for a very unexpected boat. I didnt even think he'd be in the hand to start with, with K8. He apologized to me right before he announced his hand. And honestly I was gutted, in shock, whatever adjective you want to describe it as. ive token bad beats and got angry because of them, but this one made me feel like the opening scene in rounders. Took me a while to get over that hand because it was a massive pot (for $1/3) and I grinded for hours that day and to lose a lot if my stack like that in a big hand is crazy work
Has anyone went through a period where they are constantly getting coolered? Was it getting in your head and started to lose confidence?
Ive been getting massively coolered in big pots the last 6 or 7 sessions and it just seems unrealistic to me. Playing 1/2 and 1/3 this year and ive been up $5,000 and now down to $3,000 because of this wild negative variance and bad luck. I know no one wants to hear bad luck stories but im just going to vent anyway, lol
Losing KK to AA (i get it, it happens, thats just one)
Losing set over set
Losing King flush to nut flush
Losing coin flip hands where I might have monster combo draw where I get the money in and lose, which i actually may have been the favorite in (open ended straight flush draw)
The most brutal one - losing with a full house to flopped quads (they had pocket 4s and 2 4s hit the flop while I flopped a boat!)
Flopping a lower straight to the nuts straight.
And most recently flopping top 2 pair to a set and getting the money in.
Was this just an avoidable cooler? Or could I have played it any differently?
Playing 1/3 stakes. Im UTG and raise to $10 with KJo and go heads up with someone that raises to $25. I make the call.
Flop comes KJ8 with 2 hearts, and I have no hearts. I bet $25 with my top 2 pair. Villan raises me to $75. Im putting him either on AA or maybe AK because its highly unlikely he has KK or JJ since im blocking both. Perhaps hes trying to protect his AA or AK from the heart draw, or had hearts himself. Either way, we both have around $350 in our stack and I had to protect my monster, so I go all in, he calls and flips over KK for top set. To add to that he boats up on the turn with another 8, but that didnr matter since i was basically drawing dead anyway. Crazy thing is he didnt even snap call when I went all in. Frustrating hand.
