Hi everyone 😭

I’m a first-year student starting at uOttawa this fall and I really need some advice.

I just bought a Frosh Fest ticket because I genuinely thought it was for the actual Panda Game...the football game at the stadium that happens every year, where everyone wears red and goes to support uOttawa.

The event was advertised as “Ottawa Homecoming 2026 Panda Game Kickoff” and says “Frosh Fest is here to make sure your first university Homecoming starts in the biggest way possible.” Because of that, I honestly thought I was buying a ticket for the Panda Game experience itself.

I only realized right after purchasing that Frosh Fest is actually a separate party at The Show on October 1st from 10 PM to 2 AM, and not the actual football game at the stadium. 😭

I contacted the organizers immediately to ask for a cancellation and refund, and I haven’t used the ticket at all.

Do you think they might refund me in this situation? Has anyone ever successfully gotten a Frosh Fest ticket refunded? Should I contact uOttawa, the organizers, TicketSpice, or someone else?

I’m really hoping they can understand that this was an honest misunderstanding and that I contacted them basically immediately after buying it. I really don’t want to lose almost $30 over this 😭

If anyone has any advice or has been in a similar situation, please let me know ASAP. I’d really appreciate it 🙏
