I know this post is going to get political and just to start out, THAT IS NOT MY INTENTION.

I would like to come on here and get yalls perspective on this issue when it comes to elections. My state is having an election somewhat soon and I really have started to lean towards the center of the isle. The problem with a two party system that we live with here in the states, is that it is always the "the lesser of two evils" when it comes to choosing your candidate. I really do like the democratic candidate and I think he will really benefit my state. I really don't have any issues with him since he is a self proclaiming believer, and he seems to have generally good morals, plus I like the way he conducts himself (his campaign promises are good as well but you have to take those with a grain of salt).

The problem with him is that he supports abortion. My view on this issue has always been the Christian and what I believe to be the biblical approach, which is that it is a sin.

God says that all sin is treated the same in His eyes, and this is something I believe as well. However I am curious why it gets blown up to be a deal breaker every time elections roll around. I have a very good relationship with my parents (who are also strong believers) and she said that the candidate I like "supports killing people". If she had that response than I am sure others feel that way as well. I believe it is wrong but to God, it isn't any worse than lying, and we don't have laws that ban that.

My question here is, do we really need this to be outlawed or heavily restricted when other sin isn't? As well as, should I make this a deal breaker when I pick my candidate this November?

Just to reiterate, I do not want a strictly political discussion. Politics made need to be brought up in a response to make your point but it is not my hope for posting this. Please remember we are all brothers and sisters in Christ and that none of these earthly things will matter when we get to Heaven.

I created a plex server and have been adding media to it for the last 6 months or so. I gave my parents access because I thought they would want a free option other than $100 dollars a month that they are spending on streaming services. My wife is also using it a ton. My mom never really jumped on and my dad thought it was cool and used it and so did my wife. However recently my parents decided they didn’t want to use it anymore since they feel it’s not legal. They have now started coming after my wife and I with the whole it’s a sin argument and my wife now doesn’t think I should run it either.

This all started because I wanted to do something nice for my family and now they are throwing it in my face. Now I might have to delete the whole thing and have nothing but YouTube. There is 0 chance of me paying for that stuff again. I will not be helping billionaires buy their 3rd yacht or private jet.

Edit: I don’t want to slander or bash Christianity here. I do consider myself a Christian and so does my wife but our understanding about what’s a sin is slightly different. Even if it is a sin I think it equates to something like speeding 5 over. Which technically is also a sin by that same point.
