What was the relationship like between Stephen Sondheim and Andrew Lloyd Webber?

Just curious considering I know there is a book about this subject but it is hard to attain currently. Mainly asking out of curiosity being a fan of both artists.

I think people misunderstand The Imposter (2012) and what it is trying to do through it's direction. (SPOILERS)

I see people watch the imposter with this idea that Nicholas's family had murdered him secretly. Without explicit evidence we believe every word Bourdin says because he brings up really weird connections and the family when pressed have no clear answer. He even creates it within the community of them and amongst us as viewers.

But he is lying to us. Because he is a professional conman.

How could a family believe this man is their son? Maybe cos he went missing at 12 years old and no one could have an idea of what he looked like. Why would they blindly accept him? Their grief took over after seeing a miracle through their grief. At least thats my interpretation. Even the moment where his mother gives Bourdin answers overseas. I know people who have gone missing to do the same, whether its denial or jutsifcation I can believe a woman grieving her dead son who is convinced its him by a PROFESSIONAL at lying then I can't blame the families reactions.

He never was telling the truth because the movie asks us "How could you believe someone who is a pathalogical liar?" well why dont we talk to him and find out?

The shot at the end of the ground being dug with no body and the cut to Bourdin smiling says everything. He's lying through he's teeth but fuck if he didn't do a good job. He just did it to us. And people still speculate that Nicolas was murdered by his family believing the movie is suggesting that when it was always Bourdin.

We done got tricked. Because of course we did. We got tricked by the guy who convinced his family that he was there fucking son.

Genius movie.
