Does Seattle teach what the left lane is for?
Serious question: does anyone in Seattle driver’s ed actually explain what the three lanes on the freeway are for?
Because every single day it feels like:
- left lane = set cruise control at exactly the speed limit
- middle lane = pace the person in the left lane
- right lane = the only lane actually moving
I genuinely don’t understand how so many people can just camp in the left and middle lanes with 20 cars stacked behind them and think “yep, this is fine.”
The left lane is for passing. The middle lane is for traveling. The right lane is for slower traffic/exits. It’s not complicated.
Seattle drivers somehow turn three lanes into one giant rolling roadblock.
