My insulin resistance increased after 8 months on metformin?

I have lost 12 kg since starting metformin 8 months ago and i had a check up at the doctors last week... to my surprise and confusion of my doctor my insulin resistance got worse.

I am still not in pre diabetic stage but i am getting worried now. I changed my diet a lot since last year albeit last few months i haven’t been keeping up (death in the family so i kinda relapsed on the healthy eating).

I am getting worried now shouldnt have my progress and metformin help? :/

I lost weight and my periods got wacky?

Since last year april i went from 83kg to 68kg (i am 159cm 5”2) and ive been on metformin last 8 months.

I noticed 3 things during my journey:

  1. When i gained weight (around 2021) my periods got much more regular

  2. Now that i am loosing weight my periods are coming in quite early or late

  3. I did ovulation tests and found out i basically ovulated immediately after my period ends (yay prolonged suffering in luteal phase)

I am so confused. Endocrinologist just didnt care about treating me and i cannot get to the gyno yet for hormone test because my periods are so irregular again that i always miss the time window for it.

I dont understand my body i thought loosing weight would help the symptom.
