Food court system for cash

Ok I've only been working food court for like a week and I haven't even learned the numbers for cash orders. I'm ranting here bc I'm in "keep your head down" phase and I'm not gonna say any of my opinions even if people agreed, but why the hell wouldn't the company put a touch screen at front counter and make it exactly like the self serve kiosks that the customers use and when they get cashed out. The ticket for that order just prints in the same area where all the other tickets come from? It would seem logical and easier to make it this way rather than the numbers for each item and then having to call whatever the order is. Feel like it wouldn't be hard to implement it like that. Has anyone else ever had this thought? I feel like people in charge have had to think about this?

Just started Costco food court. Any tips?

Just started working the food court at Costco and I did 2 days and I felt pretty defeated. I have 6+ years at McDonald's and working some of the days at Costco and then finishing my two weeks at McDonald's made me realize it's just cause I'm comfortable and confident at McDonald's, and being a newbie has me stressed when everyone seems so fast. I'm trying to give myself grace tho. Any advice. This is a 33% wage increase where I'm going from $15 to $20 with all the other incentives on top. I really wanna be successful here.
