Trying to break into geotech/environmental/industrial field work in Louisiana with no degree yet. What’s my best path?

I’m based in Louisiana (New Orleans/Kenner area) and I’m trying to break into geotechnical, environmental, industrial, drilling, or field technician work. I could use some advice from people already working in these industries.
I do not currently have a degree, but I have around 63 college credits completed. Most of my background is in physically demanding or safety-sensitive jobs rather than directly in geotech/environmental work.
Current certifications:
TWIC card
H2S certification
CPR certification
Current/recent work experience:
Security Officer at Treasure Chest Casino
Transportation Security Officer (TSA)
Pest Control Technician
Kennel Technician / animal care work
Experience working outdoors in heat and difficult conditions
I’ve recently started applying for:
Driller Assistant
Exploration Team Member
Logger/Field Technician
Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician
Environmental Field Technician
Companies like:
Terracon
Tetra Tech / Ardaman
ECS
Atlas
similar geotech/environmental firms in Louisiana
I’m willing to:
work outdoors
travel
work overtime
do physically demanding work
start entry level
obtain additional certifications
I’m planning to complete OSHA 10 next.
My long-term goal is to build a career that can eventually grow into:
geotechnical/environmental field operations
drilling
industrial operations
environmental consulting
utilities/forestry
inspection/testing
or other technical field work
For people already in these industries:
What entry-level jobs are the best “foot in the door”?
What certifications helped you the most early on?
What companies are best for training people with little direct experience?
What skills should I focus on building first?
Are there certain industries or job titles I should prioritize in Louisiana/Gulf Coast industries?
Any advice is appreciated.
