Coffee grounds maybe killed worms?

I recently added some coffee grounds from Starbucks to my vermicompost bin. I did not know you could add too much. I am pretty confident I killed them all after a successful bin for one year. Can I add baking soda or something to neutralize it and restart with more worms?

Why do people replace basil plants?

This may sound dumb, but I have a partially wooden basil plant that is roughly 2 yrs old, and I recently discovered that some people get rid of the old plant and replace it with a younger one. Is that because the younger one produces more leaves, or is the flavor better, or some other reason? My plant is pretty spindly and not producing hardly anything but I dont know if that’s because of me or the plant.

Will it get any bigger?

I know “size doesn’t matter” but these orange bell peppers are roughly the size of a golf ball. Will they get any bigger or should I harvest now?
There are bigger peppers growing above, but they are still green.

Also, for anyone feeling discouraged: the timing and amount of water will make the difference between keeping your plant alive, and having it produce veggies. Watering a little bit every day is no good for growing things, they need deep watering and fertilizer to really grow. Last year this same pepper produced 1 tiny green pepper, this year there are 10 peppers!

Cara Knott Memorial Garden

We stumbled upon this peaceful memorial today. I understand that a few years ago it had been trashed and filled with graffiti, but today everything was as it should be. The spirit of the place seemed very somber, in spite of the cheerful colors and all the decorative memorials.
