When they ask what you’re doing
How do you answer when acquaintances such as work place peers ask how you are losing weight? It throws me that it is considered socially acceptable to just ask someone you barely know such a personal question. Add that I hear all the talk around the office criticizing glp-1 use for all the standard criticisms and myths.
So I answer generally that I changed my diet, got more active and faced my food issues. This is all true. I omit use of glp-1 because I know it leads to gossip and judgment because I’ve heard it all and I think it is toxic behavior I don’t want to feed.
I feel bad for lying by omission. I feel like I could be an advocate for others and myself and the way these meds actually finally treat obesity. But it feels like such a violation of privacy …
So how do you respond? What are your thoughts?
