CIM 2026 training
I finally was able to walk a 5k without any plantar fasciitis discomfort. It’s actually 3 days in a row while having some days of in between. I now see the light at the end of the tunnel.
There are about 26 weeks till CIM marathon. I been walking for the last two months starting from 1 mile to now 5k 2 to 3 days a week. I won’t start running right away because I gain 50 pounds during the injury and back injury during fail bulk in the same time. So I want to loose 15 lbs over 2 months while strength training and walking a 5k 3 times a week.
My question is when I start running in August, what should my expectations be on how fit I will be. As is now my vo2max is 37.2 per Apple Watch. Before I got injured i had run for 4 years at the age of 50 now. I got lean (17percent body fat) and run 19:26 5k before the injury. I have not run since last July 4 2025 when I had my longest long run before tapering. 22 miles that day. Second question, will 4 months be enough to get me ready to run the whole marathon. No expectation in time, just blessed to be able to run again.
Again, June July is strength training 3 times per week, 3 5k walks and and 1 round of golf a week on kart to improve my core and have fun. I can diet like the best so I will loose weight for sure. Thank you all.
