I loved the book. It's an incredible experience. I watched the mini-series shortly after to re-capture the feeling and was disappointed. Then I needed some background entertainment, threw it on, and liked it a lot more. Just watched it again and really enjoyed it. Having some time away from the book allowed the differences that annoyed me mellow out. Gus is so much more enjoyable now, especially in part one.

I really wished they'd cast Blue Duck better but it is what it is. When Forrest talks, all I hear is him saying, "Think about it." Someone suggested Sonny Landham would have been better and they were dead on. He would have elevated that character to book level.
