In Hamlet, Polonius tells Hamlet he was once an actor who played Julius Caesar and that Brutus stabbed him. Ignoring the self promotion from Shakespeare, Brutus and Hamlet would be played by the same actor, and so would Caesar and Polonius, foreshadowing that Hamlet would kill Polonius. Imagine if there was a movie with Daniel Radcliffe and Ralph Fiennes and Fiennes' character said "I remember I played Voldemort and Harry Potter killed me" and then later Radcliffe's character killed his. I would be so unimpressed.
