However, if the rust is flaking, widespread, causing deterioration, exposing sharp metal, or making the cage difficult to sanitize, it absolutely can be cited by USDA inspectors.

No one knows if they are getting proper water. She can paint a fabulous picture. But, we see the hot water with algae and dumped over water buckets. We all know how very lazy she is and won’t check the water. IMO. Fair use act.

A medically compromised senior tortoise was seen walking through standing overflow contaminated with monkey feces while directly crossing a massive South Texas fire ant colony with visible swarming ants.
Fire ants are not harmless. Large colonies can inflict hundreds of stings within minutes and are especially dangerous to elderly, weak, injured, or medically fragile animals. Tortoises can suffer severe tissue damage, stress shock, infections, eye injuries, and death from repeated attacks. Dogs are also at risk for painful stings, allergic reactions, and secondary infections.
What makes this worse is the colony was already acknowledged as “large Colony has been there since they moved in,” yet vulnerable animals still had direct access to it.
Allowing medically compromised animals to roam through known fire ant infestations and contaminated waste overflow is not “nature.” It is a serious animal welfare and safety concern.
