Hi everyone,
I’m looking to see if anyone has had a similar experience.
I got married on December 3, 2024 and filed my I-485 and I-130 together. I also filed the I-765 for work authorization. My case is at the Philadelphia Field Office.
Here’s my timeline:
• Filed: around February/March 2025
• Biometrics scheduled: April 2025
• EAD approved/received: May 30, 2025
• First interview: May 30, 2025
• Second interview scheduled: January 23, 2026
• I was sick and couldn’t attend, so I cancelled/rescheduled the interview.
• May 1, 2026: My I-485 updated to “Case Is Being Actively Reviewed.”
It has now been about 1 year and almost 3 months since filing, and I’m wondering what usually happens after this kind of update.
Has anyone missed/cancelled a second marriage-based interview due to illness and then later received the “actively reviewed” update?
Do they usually reschedule the interview? Could this mean an RFE is coming? Or is it possible they make a decision without another interview?
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone with a similar timeline, especially at the Philadelphia Field Office.
