hey r/SideProject, first time posting here, greetings from Washington, DC.
I'm an MBA student working on a personal project. It's a small mobile-first web app for anyone drowning in impulse buys and 11pm online food-delivery regret. Originally designed with younger users in mind but I think the pain hits broader. You log small moments where you delayed something, like almost buying something dumb, not doomscrolling, or on a more positive note, packing a lunch instead of takeout. That's it. I want to make those small moments visible and acknowledged by your future self.
It's not a budgeting app. There's no math. No charts. No shame. just: log → confetti → small note from a future version of yourself.
I've been deep in the design weeds for weeks and need fresh eyes before I send it to actual users. Specifically curious about:
- whether the onboarding flow feels right
- whether the future-self moment lands
- whether you'd actually want to log something
- anything that pulls you out of the experience
You can try it out here: delayd-prototype.vercel.app
5 min on your phone (works best on mobile, the desktop view is fine, but mobile is the real product). There's a feedback form at the end with 4 questions. All responses will be emailed to me directly. Brutally honest > polite / nice.
Happy to give feedback on your project in return. Yeah this is a prototype just for the concept, not a real app yet. No signup, no data saved, just a click-through. Thanks 🌱
