Alright, so this is very embarrassing but I’m hoping to get some guidance. I (29M) have a few health conditions that require medication, it was all good until 4-5 months ago when I had to switch meds. I’ve always been super lean, never really had to watch what I eat or do any exercise.
Since I switched meds 6 months ago, I gained almost 40lbs, I hate the way I look now and I’m super insecure. I’m about to switch meds again to reduce the weight gain side effects.
My big issue is that I’ve had a gym membership (PF, not the best I know but it’s convenient for me) for the past 8 months and I barely used it. Every time I go, I have no idea what I’m doing, how the machines work, I’m overwhelmed and insecure. I get discouraged by the lack of results (obviously because I don’t give it enough time) and stop after a couple weeks. I’m extremely disciplined in life and at work but this seems like the only area where I can’t get it straight.
How do people do it? How do you guys start? How do you know what to do and how to do it? How do you build consistency when you feel like you’re at rock bottom?
I’m not looking to get super big but I don’t want to go back to the skinny guy I was either, I’d like to have a more manly, sculpted figure for the first time in my life but I’m completely lost!
