Hyperion is currently in the construction phase, and once the data center is fully built, it likely won’t require a large workforce to operate in 2-4 years. Given Meta’s track record of restructuring and layoffs, I’m concerned about long-term job stability.

Is it worth leaving my stable job of 10 years for a hyperion role that pays ~30% more but requires relocating to rural Louisiana? The move would disrupt my child’s schooling and shift us from a metro lifestyle to a rural one.

How should I weigh the higher pay against the potential risk and lifestyle impact? What would you do in this situation?
