Title says it all really. I'm a 24 year old guy, born and raised here, and have hated every second of existing here.
Everytime I'm in public I get nasty looks, have been assaulted on the red line 3 times, everything is prohibitively expensive, and everyone else looks like they're all having a good time. I come online and see that seemingly everyone, universally, just loves living here. I see constant talk about "cool spots" and just general positive anecdotes.
Is there anything actually enjoyable to do for a guy like me? (Nerdy, shy, weird, depressed)
How do people make friends here? I'm not in college and my job is a social dead end. I can't be the only one in the entire city who's situation is/was like this. How did you get out? Please help?
