Can I notch-mount a 2x8 on both sides of a 6x6?

I want to notch mount the 6x6 posts and install two 2x8 secondary beams inside the notches. Is this too dangerous to the structural integrity of the posts? In particular, the rear posts worry me as they will have 14" of post above the notching.

I was planning to througbolt each secondary beam to the post with two bolts, above/below. Potentially recessing the bolt head and using a Simpson strong tie APT6 overtop the bolt as well.

The main beams will be face-mounted instead of notched. I should also mention this is for a lean-to pergola, but I'm struggling to get any input on this design choice and was hoping someone here could give me an informed opinion.

There's a decent bit of tension on this cordage I'm using to keep my calamansi growing a bit more upright. I've stuffed cardboard in between the cord and the trunk to ease the risk of damage while maintaining tension.

All four cords wrap around some anchor points on the pot caddy beneath. Then, just using midshipmans knot on the two single cord ends with enough tension to force the main trunk upright.

I don't want to risk girding it but it seemed an easy way to keep the trunk straight for a few weeks / months. Is this ok for keeping the trunk straight or do I need to try something different?

Big freeze came through a few months ago when I was out of town and unable to do anything for my monstera. Thought she might be done for but figured I'd leave her be to see. 6 weeks 9 weeks later and she's back and beautiful!
